Duplo DC-618 Slitter/Cutter/Creaser
Duplo USA is launching the DC-618 Slitter/Cutter/Creaser for short-run finishing. Offering significant enhancements over its predecessor DC-616 Pro, the DC-618 delivers output at a faster speed and on heavier stock. Duplo also gave the PC Controller software and LCD control panel interfaces a facelift to make them more intuitive and user-friendly, With the ability to perform up to six slits, 30 cuts and 20 creases in a single pass, the DC-618 produces applications such as business cards, postcards, brochures, and book covers with a full-bleed finish. — Booth 8408

MBO CoBo-Stack System
MBO America will be promoting its CoBo-Stack — a so-called cobot — that is, a collaborative robot that doesn’t require a protective cage. Product stacks, such as stacks of folded signatures, are transported from the delivery onto the table of the CoBo-Stack. The cobot picks up the stacks from the table and deposits them on pallets. This drastically reduces manual labor demands on the operator at the delivery. The pallets can be positioned on both sides of the delivery, allowing uninterrupted operation. While the MBO CoBo-Stack is filling one pallet, the operator can move the loaded pallet away and prepare the next empty pallet. — Booth 9951
Fujifilm J Press 750S Inkjet Press
Fujifilm will be showcasing its third-generation J Press 750S sheetfed color inkjet press, a B2-format device that can handle 23x.29.5˝ maximum size sheets. The press incorporates the newest version of Fujifilm Dimatix SAMBA single-pass printheads using MEMS technology, along with Fujifilm’s VIVIDIA aqueous-based pigment ink, for 1,200x1,200 dpi output. A rapid coagulation primer is applied via an anilox roller prior to inkjetting. RICOH Pro C9200 Series
Ricoh USA will be featuring its Pro C9200 Series. These cut-sheet toner-based digital presses help users to expand into new markets with the ability to produce book jackets, six-page brochures and other unique applications. Heidelberg Digimatrix 60
Heidelberg is debuting its new Digimatrix 60 FC diecutter and hot-foiler, as well as the Diana Go 85 folder/gluer. Both machines are aimed at short-run and digital packaging solutions. With a very small footprint, the Digimatrix runs up to 5,500 sph and can process sheets up to 23.6x17.7˝. The foiling version of the machine (FC) allows for hot-foiling on a wide array of substrates. The Diana Go can produce cartons at speeds up to 820 fpm and a width up to 33.4˝. PRINTING United will mark the U.S. launch of Plockmatic Group/Morgana’s range of BM5000 and BM3000 digital bookletmakers. The new BM5035 and BM5050 handle sheets of up to 24.4˝ in length. They can staple and fold up to 50 sheets of 20-lb. bond, to create up to 200-page booklets. The BM5035 and BM3035 are capable of handling 35 sheets to create up to 140-page booklets. The Insignia 6 diecutter from Rollem International is designed to meet digital diecutting demands. Capable of a 20x20˝ sheet size, it is well-suited for packaging, labels, and promotional products. The Insignia diecuts and also performs kiss-cutting, creasing, cut-scoring, embossing, and in-line folding and gluing, making it ideal for producing folded carton work. Canon Océ Colorado 1650 Printer
The 64˝ Océ Colorado 1650 printer from Canon boasts a new version of Canon UVgel ink formulated for maximum flexibility by increasing the “stretchability” of each cured ink droplet. Océ FLXfinish technology is a new approach to LED curing that allows operators to choose between a matte or gloss output for each individual print to achieve different finishes, without the need to change inks or media. Kodak has now added Metallic Clear Dry Ink to its speciality ink portfolios for use on the NexPress and Nexfinity digital presses. This versatile ink is a transparent material that can be combined with CMYK inks to achieve metallic effects such as silver, bronze, copper, and more. Metallic Clear Dry Ink can also be used to simulate pearlized stocks, but with the ability to use a much broader selection of substrates than what is typically available as pearlized material.
