Cedar Graphics Takes Helm of The Brandt Co.

DAVENPORT, IA—Commercial printing firm The Brandt Co., based here, is closing at the end of this month. This will affect about 70 employees, reported the The Quad-City Times.

Company president Marc Brandt said in a news release that Cedar Graphics of Hiawatha, IA, will take over operations. According to the Times, Cedar Graphics will retain the Brandt brand, and the production will be handled from Cedar Graphics’ facility in Hiawatha, IA, while sales and administrative offices will be maintained in Davenport and Peoria.

Production staff at Brandt will have an opportunity for positions at Cedar Graphics.

“The Brandt Company and Cedar Graphics have been mutually respectful competitors for many years, both in the Quad-Cities and the Cedar Rapids, Iowa City corridor,” Hassan Igram, Cedar Graphics CEO, told the newspaper. “It’s unfortunate to see any Iowa family-owned business close its doors, but we are certain that Brandt’s valued customers and employees will experience a smooth transition into our family and will be excited to explore the opportunities and capabilities that Cedar Graphics will provide."
