EASTON, MD—030609—Cenveo Inc. plans to close its local printing facility effective April 25, according to the Associated Press. The plant is said to employ about 200 people and was part of Cadmus Communications acquisition Cenveo completed in December, 2006.
At the time of the acquisition, Cadmus' revenues exceeded $450 million and it operated eight plants that employed more than 3,000 people. The printer specialized in the production of scientific, technical and medical journals
The reported noted that an area agency was working to help the employees find new jobs.
Cenveo reported total revenues of $2.4 billion from 80 plants employing 10,000 people in the Printing Impressions 400 listing of top commercial printers for 2008.
