CGX Announces Finalists for the Third Annual Encore Awards
HOUSTON—February 21, 2013—Consolidated Graphics (CGX), one of North America’s leading commercial printing companies and the world’s largest digital printer, is honored to announce the 27 marketing and business leaders that have been named Crystal Award finalists in the third annual Encore Awards, presented by International Paper.
The Encore Awards were created in 2011 to showcase the innovative ideas of Consolidated Graphics’ customers and demonstrate the many ways Consolidated Graphics delivers creative and effective print and marketing solutions to the markets it serves. International Paper—manufacturer of such paper brands as Accent Opaque, Carolina, Hammermill, Springhill and Williamsburg Offset—joined the program in 2013 as the presenting sponsor. The awards are part of emerge, Consolidated Graphics’ annual customer conference and business expo, scheduled for April 30 to May 3, 2013 in Las Vegas.
"Our customers are diverse, ranging from local businesses to some of the most powerful brands in the world, and the Encore Awards recognize their excellence in marketing communication solutions,” said Aaron Grohs, executive vice president, sales and marketing, for Consolidated Graphics. “This year we saw a particular trend in the innovative use of unique papers and substrates, and a creative use of finishes to add depth and luster to design, proving yet again how effective the print medium can be."
An independent panel of five judges from around the country met January 15, 2013, in Houston, to review and discuss the merits of each entry, and three Crystal Award finalists were selected for each of the nine award categories, recognizing excellence in the concept, design and production of print materials from more than 400 submissions. The Encore Award winner for each category will be selected from the announced finalists on May 2 at the Encore Awards presentation in Las Vegas.
