Cheryl Kahanec to Receive the Naomi Berber Memorial Award
PITTSBURGH—Oct. 17, 2011—Printing Industries of America is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2011 Naomi Berber Award is Cheryl Kahanec. The Berber Award recognizes a woman in the printing industry who has an outstanding record of accomplishments that demonstrate her contribution toward the development of the graphic communications industry.
Kahanec is one of the printing industry’s leading implementers of variable-data color printing and is the executive vice president of EarthDigital, an EarthColor Co. Her involvement with the digital printing industry began when she was asked to help evaluate the benefits of Indigo’s first E-Print 1000 for a former employer. With her strong production knowledge and marketing background, Kahanec immediately fell in love with the digital technology and continues to focus on this product offering and the solutions it brings to the market.
Over the past several years, she has worked with many major companies in the selection and development of products and services for the industry, including HP, IBM, Adobe, Kodak, and Xerox. Currently, she serves on the board of directors for the School of Continuing Professional Studies (Graphic Arts) at New York University.
The Berber Award will be presented to Kahanec at Printing Industries of America’s Fall Administrative Meetings, Nov. 11–13, 2011, in Miami Beach, FL. This forum hosts an impressive audience of industry leaders, including boards of directors and committee members from Printing Industries of America, its Ben Franklin Honor Society, and the Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation.
