Printing Industries of America has announced its 2015 officers. David Olberding of Phototype in Columbus, OH, is chairman. First and second vice chairmen are Bradley Thompson, II, Inland Press, Detroit; and Curt Kreisler, Gold Star Printers, North Miami Beach, FL, respectively. Bryan Hall, of Greensboro, NC-based Graphic Visual Solutions, is secretary. Treasurer is Michael Wurst of Henry Wurst Inc. in Kansas City, MO. Immediate past chairman is Jeff Ekstein, Willow Printing Group,Concord, ON.
Adrienne Felix is a new customer service rep at Carter Printing & Graphics, a member of the Allegra Network located in Knightdale, NC.
Lyndee Sing has been named the new director of Cal Poly's Graphic Communication Institute (GrCI) in San Luis Obispo, CA. The institute provides industry professionals access to workshops, conferences and seminars, custom training programs, consulting, laboratory testing and research. She succeeded Harvey Levenson, who retired from the university last October.
Seven industry leaders were recently inducted into Printing Industries of America's Ben Franklin Honor Society. They include: Timothy Burton, president, Burton & Mayer, Menomonee Falls, WI; Wanzie Collins, CEO of PanaPrint Inc. in Macon, GA; Ron Davis, PIA's senior vice president and chief economist; Laura Gale, president of Crossmedia451 in Chicago; James Riley, president and CEO of RBO Print Logistix, Maryland Heights, MO; Neils Winther, managing partner, chairman and owner of Think Patented in Miamisburg, OH; and Richard Warner, of RD Warner Consulting, Imperial, PA.
Bookmasters, based in Ashland, OH, has welcomed Steve Bemis as its new director of information technology.
At Velocity Print Solutions, Albany, NY, Crystal Jacquard joined as quality service/ISO coordinator, along with Toni Dybas in customer service fulfillment. The litho production team added Eric Brenenstuhl, Keith Radcliff, Phil Bulger, Jeffrey Gardner and March Chincola. Thomas Polak and Mark Rochester work in shipping. Bruno Pinheiro works in monochrome digital; and Pedro Paonessa and Greg Vanier joined the automation department. Tracy Tompson was promoted to key account customer service rep; and Kim Lee is now first pressman for large litho. Dave Berg and Mike Quick were hired in the prepress/graphics department.
