Catalogers Are Embracing Personalization
According to Multichannel Marketing Magazine's "2010 Outlook Survey: Catalogs," merchants seem to be embracing personalization of catalogs as part of their effort to effectively market and increase sales.
The survey found that more than a quarter (28 percent) of catalogers surveyed in early 2010 were using variable data printing (VDP) to customize catalogs—and close to 21.5 percent surveyed were actively considering utilizing VDP to personalize catalogs this year.
In addition, of those respondents currently employing VDP, 35 percent said they planned to create customized catalogs for specific customer segments in 2010, and another 29 percent were considering it.
