COX Printers Event Creates a Buzz About Bees, Local Businesses

LINDEN, NJ—After installing a rooftop honeybee farm a couple of years ago, COX Printers has been spreading the word about the importance of honeybees and their recent decline. For the past two years, COX owner Michael Kaufman has invited clients and local businesses to enjoy the sweet tasting honey at harvest time.

The second annual Honey Harvest and Cross Pollination Expo was held recently at COX Printers' manufacturing plant, and beekeepers from Bee Bold Apiaries demonstrated how honey is harvested from the hive. The educational experience was also a networking event. Each guest had the opportunity to meet representatives from a variety of local businesses.

California

Burbank—Imagic, which specializes in wide-format digital printing, has invested in a Screen Truepress Jet W3200UV HS high-speed inkjet flatbed printer.

Colorado

Colorado Springs—KPB Printing has improved its efficiency with a Kodak Achieve platesetter combined with Kodak Sonora XP process-free plates.

Georgia

Suwanee—An EFI H1625 LED wide-format hybrid roll/flatbed printer has been installed at the AlphaGraphics franchise here.

Illinois

Darien—Card printer Marketing Card Technology has purchased a six-color, 40˝ Mitsubishi 3000XL sheetfed press equipped with UV curing capabilities and a plastics printing package from RM Machinery.

Naperville—An in-line mini-web has been installed on Suncraft Technologies' six-color Heidelberg Printstream 100 press. In addition, the direct mail provider acquired a Kodak Prosper S10 series inkjet imaging system to create color maps and other graphic images.

Michigan

Saginaw—Reimold Printing and Clare, MI-based Campbell Printing have merged. Reimold Printing will manage all company business, and the combined companies will operate as Reimold Printing out of its Saginaw production facilty.

Missouri

Fenton—FormStore Inc. has relocated its digital printing and direct mail center into its headquarters facility here.

New York

New York—In response to rising demand for upscale soft graphics, Coloredge has purchased another Mimaki JV 5-320S grand-format dye sub inkjet printer.

Ohio

Lebanon—A Manroland R700 direct drive sheetfed offset press has been installed at JBM Envelope.

Miamisburg—Think Patented has acquired Chisano Marketing Communications. Approximately 20 Chisano employees have moved from the company's former Miamisburg office to Think Patented's 75,000-square-foot plant here.

Virginia

Sterling—After beta testing a five-color Ricoh Pro C7110X digital cutsheet printer, GAM Graphics & Marketing reports that it has experienced a cost savings of 25 percent and been able to expand its range of product capabilities.
