Installation of Printer Enables Shop to Output Its Customers' Grand-Format Orders In-House
FORT WORTH, TX—Thanks to a new EFI VUTEk QS2000 grand-format flatbed and roll-to-roll printer supplied by Heidelberg, Cockrell Enovation is now able to better control its scheduling, delivery times, quality and costs. Prior to the install, grand-format jobs—signage, POP/POS and related materials—were being farmed out.
"Our customers had been asking us to become a one-stop shop for some time," says John Cockrell Jr., vice president. "Since we installed the QS2000, a lot of our current customers are coming to us for the high-value work they used to go elsewhere to buy. Now we have the flexibility to produce one to 1,000 units and achieve a satisfying level of profitability, regardless of run length."
