Union City—OEC Graphics' facility here is one of three worldwide to beta test a new HP digital press: a seven-color, 30˝-wide Indigo 20000, which is optimized for digital flexible package printing.
ILLINOIS
Chicago—A NELA Visio in-line vision punch bender has been acquired for Topweb's Goss Universal press.
Schaumburg—Paddock Publishing installed a second NELA vision punch bender in-line with a Agfa Advantage N-DL CTP device.
INDIANA
Indianapolis—A Digital Media division has been launched at HardingPoorman, allowing for video production, e-marketing and Web development at the company.
MAINE
Augusta—J.S. McCarthy Printers has purchased the customer base and certain assets of Printech in Stamford, CT. The Printech division will continue to operate from Stamford.
MISSOURI
St. Louis—The Flesh Co. has replaced its existing MIS software with EPMS' Enterprise solution.
NORTH CAROLINA
Charlotte—The Charlotte Observer converted to a 44˝ format for all printed projects. NELA provided tool-less lock-ups for its 54-couple TKS press. In addition, three NELA vision benders were modified for the new locks.
Mooresville—Celebrating its eighth anniversary, Victory Press has installed a Brother GT-3 direct-to-garment printer, a Xerox 560 light production machine for short runs, an MBO B-21 folder with right angle and a 12x18˝ Kluge for diecutting.
PENNSYLVANIA
Pittsburgh—An MGI Meteor DP8700XL multi-substrate, 40˝ digital press has been acquired by Trust Franklin Press. It marks the first MGI Meteor press installation in the area.
WEST VIRGINIA
Kearneysville—A six-color Didde XL 900 web press with sheet, fanfold and roll-to-roll capabilities has been purchased by Avalanche Services. The company also installed an Ingersoll Rand 40hp air compressor, a 54˝ Polar cutter, two additional MBO folders, a third delivery truck and Prodigy workflow system.
