A partnership has been forged between Xanté Corp. and Pantone Inc. The entire line of Xanté Ilumina color presses are now PANTONE licensed.
Rodney Balmer, Flint Group’s sheetfed ink technical director, was recently awarded the 2009 Technical Achievement Award by NPIRI, the research arm of the National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers. The chemist was recognized for his advances in energy curable ink and coating technology, as well as for helping printers incorporate these technologies into their pressrooms.

Jean-Francois Colpron has been appointed to direct Heidelberg USA’s product management team as vice president of Prinect and Consumables product management. Colpron was previously vice president of product management and marketing for Heidelberg Canada.
Frank Junker, executive vice president for production at KBA’s Radebeul, Germany, plant (formerly Planeta), retired September 25. Throughout his 50 years at KBA, Junker contributed to the reorganization of press production in Radebeul, following German reunification, and its acquisition by Koenig & Bauer.
A strategic partnership between Ricoh Americas and the Graphic Communication Department at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA, calls for the donation of a fully configured Ricoh Pro C900S digital color production printing system. Ricoh will also provide training and ongoing service to the university.
INX Group has formed INX Digital International, which combines Sakata INX’s digital resources into one cohesive group. INX Digital will be led by key personnel from Triangle Digital, Megaink, Anteprima and INX.
