TORONTO - March 8, 2018 - Crawford Technologies, provider of innovative document solutions that streamline, improve and manage customer communications, announced it has been recognized for two awards from Xplor International, the worldwide electronic document systems association.
Crawford Technologies is the recipient of Xplor’s 2018 Technology of the Year Award for its Auto Tagger for Accessibility solution, an inclusive tool that accommodates the needs of the blind, partially sighted and cognitively disabled, and Xplor’s 2018 Application of the Year Award for its work with leading insurer, Unum, in its initiative to ensure document integrity and efficiency when outsourcing print production. The awards will be presented at Xploration 18, held April 17-19, 2018 in Orlando, Fla.
Xplor’s Technology of the Year Award recognizes a product transforming the industry by expanding the capabilities of document and communication systems. The winning solution, Auto Tagger for Accessibility, enables organizations to prepare documents to meet accessibility regulations by automatically tagging and converting documents into Accessible PDFs (WCAG 2.0 and PDF U/A) or Accessible HTML5. Auto Tagger for Accessibility allows users to submit documents without specialized knowledge in remediation or document accessibility, while ensuring compliance with global regulations, as well as providing a better customer experience for those in need of accessible documents.
Xplor’s Application of the Year Award is presented to a company demonstrating high achievement in the innovative application of technology or the distinctive implementation of existing document and communication systems. Unum, a leading provider of disability, life, financial and other insurance benefits, chose Crawford Technologies’ Operations Express and QA in the Cloud to enable them to automate 2,000 applications and help create an efficient process in conjunction with PRISMAproduction workflow from Canon Solutions America, and ensure document integrity when outsourcing print production.
The automated process now in place enables a more streamlined and efficient process from the time Unum receives a print stream back from the outsourcer to when the job is released for final output and distribution.
“The results of the development and execution of this application have dramatically improved our business processes,” said Wade Redmond, director, process architecture, Unum. “Crawford Technologies was with us every step of the way in automating and streamlining our operations. We were thrilled to hear this initiative was recognized by Xplor.”
Ernie Crawford, president and CEO of Crawford Technologies, also added, "It is an honor to receive with not one, but two, of the document industry’s most prestigious awards. This recognition underscores our company-wide commitment to excel at developing industry-leading solutions that increase workflow efficiency and provide compliant and accessible documents.”
