SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — August 29, 2016 — Gerard Vail has been named VP of sales and national accounts at CTI Paper USA. He will hold an equity position in the growing North American supplier of premium digital and offset printing papers and envelopes.
Vail, most recently sales director at Finch Paper, brings a dedicated 30-year background in printing and premium coated/uncoated printing papers. He is a longtime specialist in digital papers and substrates, continuously driving to help merchants and printers maximize their offerings and profitability.
“Gerard is a respected sales and marketing executive with an unrelenting focus on delivering new value and profitability to customers across the U.S. and Canada,” says John Kelly, president and owner of CTI Paper USA. “Merchants, printers and end-users uniformly praise his excellence and consistent hard work on their behalf.”
Vail also has served in senior management and sales positions at International Paper/xpedx, Nekoosa Coated Products, Lewis Paper and Taylor Corp.
He was VP-sales and marketing for the former xpedx Stores division, a network of more than 120 paper stores in the U.S. and Canada, where he helped grow profitability, improve and expand the e-commerce business and develop new custom services for small and mid-size printers.
At Nekoosa Coated, he developed successful national private label programs for merchants, while at Lewis Paper he helped the company nearly double revenues over eight years by working closely with printers and end-users to expand their sales opportunities in digital substrates.
At Taylor Corp., he served as Midwest regional sales manager for Regency (now Navitor), serving printers of all sizes, plus Fortune 1000 companies.
Vail was born into printing and paper—his family owned and operated a successful multimillion dollar-revenue trade printing company in Chicago. By age 12, he was running a Heidelberg press. A Chicago and Wisconsin native, he graduated from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1984.
