Direct Mail Partners Upgrades Océ Printers to Save $150,000+ Annually
DALLAS, TX/TRUMBULL, CT—February 2, 2010—Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, announced today that by deploying printers from the Océ VarioPrint 6000 Ultra cutsheet print family, Direct Mail Partners will replace several competitive devices, consolidate its printer footprint, and reduce overall monthly operational expenses by more than $10,000. Two Océ VarioPrint 6250 Ultra cutsheet printers will be upgraded to Océ VarioPrint 6320 Ultra systems as part of a planned growth path to add speed to production of their customers’ bills, statements and policy documents.
“Our rationale for the Océ purchase lies in the speed and lower operating costs of the new Océ VarioPrint 6320 Ultra printers. This lets us consolidate three printers into two, reduce administrative operations, and cut our monthly service and maintenance expenses by over $10,000 per month. The total increase to net income exceeds $150,000 per year,” said Direct Mail Partners CEO Kevin M. Burke. Direct Mail Partners is a variable data printer and pre-sort business specializing in billing, statements, insurance policy documentation, and complex document composition and printing.
“We also simplified our workflows through increased automation, less human intervention, and improved document integrity,” Burke added. Nonproprietary Océ digital workflow supports business growth by letting Direct Mail Partners take on more types of jobs using existing printing resources. The two Océ systems displaced competing cutsheet and continuous feed printers, resulting in a smaller space requirement on the production floor.
The acquisition of Océ cutsheet systems feeds a strategic expansion of print production capabilities in response to market demand for composition and print production of complex documents requiring variable paper stocks and finishing requirements. Direct Mail Partners has already established a color print infrastructure based on Océ technology, with two Océ CS665 Pro color cutsheet production systems at both Direct Mail Partners locations.
