BATON ROUGE, La. — September 7, 2016 — A GoFundMe page has been created to help the employees of Franklin-Data Empowered Direct Marketing, whose homes have been damaged or destroyed by the recent flooding in southern Louisiana.
While the direct mail printer's operations in Baton Rouge, La., were not impacted by the flooding, many of the company's employees saw their homes, belongings and memories washed away. In response to inquiries as to how clients, friends and general members of the industry can help the impacted people, the GoFundMe page was created. Through Wednesday morning, the page had raised nearly $4,800 of its $10,000 goal.
Photos on the fundraising page provide a general idea as to the devastation suffered by the employees. Significant water damage leaves a home uninhabitable, and with many residences impacted, the process of making homeowners whole again is frustratingly long and tedious. For some of these people, obtaining a certificate of occupancy won't happen anytime soon.
The page can be accessed here. If you would like to take a more direct approach to supporting the employees, contact Shannon Thomas of Franklin-Data Empowered Direct Marketing at (225) 387-0504.
