Printer First to Be Certified as Women Business Enterprise, Woman Owned Small Business
NEW YORK — October 28, 2016 — Doremus fp, a respected provider of financial, marketing and business communication services, has announced it received certification by the National Women Business Owners Corporation (NWOBC) as both a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) and Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB). Doremus fp is the first and only financial printing company in the country to receive these certifications.
“We know that diversity is increasingly important to our clients, and this certification will provide them with the assurance that they are working with a woman-owned business that has been fully vetted by a credible third party,” comments Diane Wade, CEO and owner of doremus fp. “We’re excited about the new opportunities this will open up for us, and we look forward to demonstrating to our new clients our capability to offer superior client service and outstanding delivery of their printing needs.”
WBE certification demonstrates that a woman has majority ownership and control of a business entity thereby enabling the business to compete for work set aside for woman- and minority- owned businesses in both the federal and private sectors. WOSB certification is required for participation in the federal procurement program that allows contracting officers to set aside specific contracts for certified WOSBs. Certification is a rigorous process that includes a lengthy application, review of financial and business information and an on-site business visit.
“As a woman-owned business in the financial printing industry, this is yet another way for us to stand out and make doremus fp the easy choice when it comes to our clients’ financial and commercial printing needs,” adds Wade.
Wade has a long history in the business of financial printing; she learned the business working for her father at Appeal Financial Printing in the early years of her career. In 1989, Wade helped her husband Dave write the business plan for the creation of doremus fp. While Dave ran the doremus fp business, Wade worked in advertising at major firms, such as Grey, then co- founded her own boutique agency. She began transitioning to a leadership role in doremus fp in 2013; when Dave passed away in 2015, she took over the reins.
“As a woman business owner, I am excited to be able to help open the doors wider for young women to grow up in a corporate culture that has them in mind,” comments Wade.
Doremus fp was officially certified as a WBE and WOSB on Aug. 24, 2016.
