Drummond Press to Obtain RGI's Print Division, Expanding Its Presence in the Southeast
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—October 21, 2015—The Drummond Press announced today a deal to obtain control of RGI’s print division, a data-driven marketing and print solutions provider out of Marietta, Georgia. This move signifies the Jacksonville-based commercial printer’s growth strategy to expand its print offering to customers across the Southeast. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This transaction strengthens Drummond’s production capabilities and service offering through:
- Premier digital printing presses that offer the same rich color images with more economical options for customized short runs and variable data for projects like direct mail campaigns;
- Advanced inline finishing capabilities that provide high-quality finishes done in-house to save time and cost;
- Technology that provides greater efficiencies around the company’s fulfillment and distribution platform, as well as its online storefront and operational framework; and
- A growing team of sales, support and technical experts serving the Atlanta area.
“For 76 years, Drummond has remained committed to finding new ways to add more value to our growing customer base—and that’s exactly what this move accomplishes," said John Falconetti, chairman and CEO of Drummond Press. "RGI has built a sophisticated operation that supports today’s top marketing trends with print production; we’re excited to add these advanced capabilities to Drummond’s growing offering."
This is Drummond’s second investment in the Atlanta area. In August 2012, the company purchased Graphic Communications Corp. (GCC), expanding its geographical footprint outside of Florida, as well as enhancing its offering around wide-format printing, packaging solutions and operational logistics. Drummond now operates two production facilities in Jacksonville and Atlanta, providing local service, custom solutions and streamlined delivery to customers across the Southeast U.S.
RGI has specialized in providing custom lead generation, print management and marketing solutions since 1985. As a result of the continued growth of its data-driven marketing business, RGI strategically decided to focus on growing its lead generation and data analytics platform, which will continue to operate under the RGI brand.
"As consumer demand for personalization continues to grow, data-driven engagement has become an integral component of today’s marketing strategy," said Mike Rehg, president and CEO of RGI. "RGI will continue to focus on its core area of expertise, data marketing, and we look forward to partnering with Drummond’s extensive manufacturing capabilities in order to deliver ROI-driven direct mail programs."
