Dscoop 11th Annual Conference in San Antonio Focuses on Giving Back to the Community
ATLANTA — February 17, 2016 — Giving back to the community will be one of the many highlights of the 11th annual Dscoop (Digital Solutions Cooperative) conference in San Antonio on April 14-16. Dscoop is the largest digital users group in the country and is made up of HP Inc. graphics solutions customers.
“Our focus in 2016 is extending our connection from among our members to the digital print community,” explained Mike Duggal, conference chair and CEO of Duggal Visual Solutions. “The conference of HP graphics customers, including HP Indigo, HP Large-Format and HP PageWide Web Press communities, is a key venue for learning, connecting and collaboration among members, thought leaders, industry partners and HP.” Networking has long been a key component at Dscoop events. A significant number of attendees and members attribute part of their business growth to networking with other members. This year at the conference we are building in opportunities for interaction among the attendees while giving back to others.
“The conference,” Duggal said, “will feature a bike build project on the morning of April 14. Professionals known for their expertise in putting ink on paper will become teams of bike builders in a fun, interactive and memorable event. The goal is to build 100 bikes and donate them to 100 San Antonio kids.”
The conference will also make a donation to Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio as part of its Texas Hold ‘Em charity event being held on Wednesday evening, April 13. Up to 200 Dscoop members will be playing poker for $8,000 in prizes. HP is offering the grand prize of free HP Indigoclicks up to $5,000 in value. This event is expected to fill up fast as many attendees will be arriving on Wed., April 13.
Finally, Dscoop will use HP digital printing technology and some members’ unique capabilities to benefit local San Antonio schools. Dscoop and HP, working with the network of Dscoop members, including Frecklebox, Blurb and Bridgeport National Bindery, will provide personalized books for elementary students and personalized magazines for students participating in a journalism or writing program. Members are encouraged to bring crayons and reading books for area elementary schools, with the goal of providing over 1,000 books to local students.
“Print is a critical component of students’ education, and we and our customers are uniquely qualified to provide better learning experiences for students with personalized books and magazines,” commented Haim Levit, VP and general manager, HP Indigo and PageWide Web Press, Americas, HP. “It’s our pleasure to leverage HP digital printing technology to make a difference in the lives of San Antonio-based students alongside our customers.”
Duggal added, “We are excited to introduce these give-back opportunities to the Dscoop community." He continued, “Our community has always been very generous with its time, talents and resources. These events represent an easy way in which attendees can have fun and make an impact on the community.”
