BALTIMORE—Mike DuBose’s two-year stint as CEO of Vertis Communications came to an end with his January 1 resignation. The company has named Stephen Dyott as vice chairman and Alex Sorokin as interim president.
DuBose presided over the acquisition of American Color Graphics (ACG), as well as Vertis’ reorganizational bankruptcy. Dyott, who previously served as ACG’s chairman/CEO, will serve as a senior advisor to the board. Vertis has hired an executive search firm to assist in securing a permanent CEO.
“Since his recruit-ment into Vertis in December 2006, Mike led the successful turnaround of Vertis and, most recently, helped lead the successful financial restructuring and merger of Vertis Communications and American Color Graphics,” said Mike Elkins, a member of the Vertis board of directors, of DuBose’s contributions.
“Vertis will benefit from the able leadership of our new vice chairman, Steve Dyott, and interim president, Alex Sorokin—who will both work closely with senior management to ensure Vertis continues to leverage its strengths and reinforce its leadership position in the industry,” Elkins stated.
