Eckhart & Co. Installs New Hardcover Book Casing-In Line

Eckhart & Company, a leading resource for bookbinding and print finishing services and a manufacturer of rigid boxes and cases, is proud to announce an upgrade to their hardcover book manufacturing capabilities with the addition of a new 2020 Kolbus BF513, 30 books per minute, casing-in line.
Producing a hardcover book essentially consists of 3 steps:
- The book block (text) is prepared and bound.
- The hard case (material wrapped around board) is manufactured.
- The book block is cased-in (glued) to the hard case.
“Over the past several years the company has made investments in steps 1 and 2, so the opportunity to upgrade our casing-in (step 3) capabilities made complete sense,” commented President Chris Eckhart. *In May of 2019, the company added a new Kolbus case maker.
