MALVERN, Pa. — June 3, 2016 — Ricoh USA, has announced that Ecoprint, a leader in adopting the latest digital print technologies, has installed the next generation of digital color by adding the Ricoh Pro C9110 digital print platform to its operations. Continuing Ecoprint's commitment for over 39 years of innovative and forward thinking, the Maryland-based print- and mail-services provider sought a solution to improve turnaround times, increase capacity and develop new applications to further help deliver industry-leading products and services to its customer base. This most recent investment was made to help further satisfy both current and future needs of clients, as the platform's broad capabilities provide a level of flexibility that enhances Ecoprint's ability to adapt to changing market needs.
"Our philosophy is based on recognizing that our customers want new and innovative solutions that produce more powerful marketing materials that give them more value," relays Bobby Firestein, CEO, Ecoprint. "The addition of the Ricoh Pro C9110 has brought a new level of quality and execution to our business. With this addition we are able to provide our customers with an even larger range of digital products and solutions — while guaranteeing to our customers the consistently high level of quality they have come to expect."
Ecoprint began its legacy of innovation in 1977, when it first began production out of a retrofitted school bus, which had served as the campaign vehicle for an environmental nonprofit. Ecoprint's founders bolted a small press to the bus's floor and set to work, producing flyers for local environmental and nonprofit organizations in Washington, D.C., while staying on the go as a functioning vehicle. Since merging with Sveconway, a local, family-owned printer, in 2013, Ecoprint's mission of leading the paper and printing industries to higher standards of sustainability have continued, but now with expanded capabilities and a complete printing, design and distribution portfolio.
The Ricoh Pro C9110 brings 130 page-per-minute (ppm) speed, larger sheet size capacity up to 13X27-1/2", and wide range of substrates supporting paper weights up to 400 gsm in both simplex and duplex. The machine delivers consistent high-quality output, increased productivity and reliability.
"Ecoprint provides the kind of services Ricoh is well-positioned to help them with, but they also exalt and exemplify a goal, sustainability, that Ricoh holds very dear, as well," says John Fulena, VP, Production Printing Business Group, Ricoh USA. "We have deep and broad experience helping customers meet sustainability goals, and the value of that kind of common ground, in terms of values, between partners cannot be overstated. The Ricoh Pro C9110's speed, capabilities, and price point are a great fit for Ecoprint's needs, and we are glad to play a part in the success of such a unique, innovative company."
