Only time will tell whether Burton will be remembered by our industry as a mastermind who built empires and turned struggling companies into winners through managerial excellence and, when appropriate, the ability to skillfully craft mega-mergers and acquisitions. Or whether he'll be recalled as Hatchet Bob, who knew how to target troubled publicly held companies in need of cost-cutting and upheaval.
