Turning back to happier thoughts, be sure to check out the special 2005 Gold Ink Awards section beginning on page 42 (a few of the winning pieces appear here). With nearly 1,500 entries within 50 categories, they represent some of the finest printing that can be achieved.

Last, but not least, special mention should go to Regis J. Delmontagne (pictured below), president of both NPES and the Graphic Arts Show Co. (GASC), who plans to retire at the end of the year after three decades of industry service. Regis joined NPES in 1976 as its first full-time executive and has grown the association to more than 370 member companies. As head of GASC, he has successfully managed our most important trade shows and several conferences.
