Foster City, CA—Jan. 22, 2007—EFI (Nasdaq: EFII), the world leader in color digital print servers, superwide format printers and inks, and print management solutions, is proud to announce that the majority of honorees named to NAPL’s “best managed graphic communications companies” list, including the Hall of Fame winner, are EFI print management system customers. The NAPL 2006 Management Plus Awards recognize management excellence in all phases of operation, with companies judged on how they perform against industry standards in nine key areas.
The highest Management Plus honor, the William K. Marrinan Hall of Fame Award, was given to Illinois-based Bloomington Offset Process, Inc., a full-service printing, mailing, and fulfillment company that runs EFI Logic™. Three of the four Gold Award winners are EFI Logic customers: Action Printing, Fond du Lac, Wisc.; Dome Printing, Sacramento, Calif.; and McArdle Printing Co., Inc., Upper Marlboro, MD. In addition, six of the 10 Silver Award winners and one of two Merit Award honorees are EFI MIS users. These customers use solutions such as Hagen™ OA, Logic, PSI™, PrintFlow®, Auto-Count®, PrinterSite® Internal and PrinterSite Fulfillment to automate and integrate everything from estimating and costing to accounting, production management, web storefronts and more.
“EFI Logic has been managing our business for more than 20 years, ensuring we get the most out of every employee and every piece of equipment,” said Tom Mercier, president and CEO of Bloomington Offset Process, Inc., this year’s Hall of Fame winner. “Our business has grown tremendously, but thanks to Logic we haven’t needed to add any front-office staff in those two decades. And the powerful information provided by the system has enabled us to confidently take risks and seek out new business opportunities, resulting in a two-and-a-half times increase in our ‘value-added sales per productive hour’ since 1989.”
“EFI has a powerful suite of MIS software solutions to help customers of all sizes connect all of the pieces of the printing process to gain efficiencies and better manage their business for profitability,” said Marc Olin, senior vice president/general manager, EFI Professional Printing Applications. “We’re proud that our MIS offerings have played a part in the success of so many companies, and that 11 of these companies were recently honored by the NAPL. We strongly believe there is a link between award-winning operations like these and managing the business of print using EFI MIS solutions.”
