PIA Unveils Eight InterTech Award Winners
PITTSBURGH—Printing Industries of America (PIA) has announced the recipients of its 2011 InterTech Technology Awards. The technologies receiving this recognition have been judged as truly innovative and are expected to have a major impact on the graphic communications industry.
The independent panel of judges deliberated over technology nominations ranging from plates and digital printing to a variety of production and management software. The judges felt that strides in technology were demonstrated in packaging software, inkjet printing, workflow automation, offset press efficiency, UV curing and variable data printing.
Eight innovative technologies were selected to receive the award. The awards went to Enfocus for Enfocus Switch; KBA North America for Flying JobChange; Komori America for H-UV drying and curing system; manroland for autoprint APL; Memjet for Memjet technologies; *NPES The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies for PDF/VT (ISO 16612-2); EskoArtwork for studio toolkit for shrink sleeves; and NewPage Corp. for TrueJet digital coated papers.

The InterTech stars, recognized as the symbol of technological innovation and excellence, will be presented during the Premier Print Awards and InterTech Technology Awards Gala, Sept. 11, in Chicago during Graph Expo.
