PITTSBURGH—June 13, 2007—Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF), the world’s largest graphic arts trade association, has announced the appointment of graphic arts industry veteran Eric Neumann as research manager in the organization’s research department.
In his new role, Neumann will be responsible for managing the various research efforts and projects the organization performs for its customers, including product development and on-press testing, as well as marketing those services to others in the industry.
“Eric’s addition to our team emphasizes the rigor with which we do our research and testing and highlights our department’s high level of professionalism and expertise,” says Dr. Mark Bohan, vice president of research and technology for PIA/GATF. “Eric brings a unique combination of experience and insight into our industry that will no doubt be a benefit to PIA/GATF and to our clients.”
Neumann is a 20-year veteran of the graphic arts industry, most recently as product marketing manager for color and proofing products for FUJIFILM Graphic Systems U.S.A., Inc. In this position, Neumann was responsible for product development support and marketing of Fujifilm’s full line of color technologies and proofing devices, as well as acting as the company’s liaison with various industry partners.
He joined Fujifilm in 1998 and held various positions, including product development manager, technical engineer, and sales support specialist before becoming product marketing manager for color and proofing products. Prior to joining Fujifilm, Neumann worked as the electronic prepress facilities manager at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where he was responsible for lab instruction and management of the electronic prepress laboratories at RIT’s School of Printing Management and Sciences (now School of Print Media).
Neumann has earned degrees in printing from RIT, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and Fullerton College. Eric has been an active member of various industry organizations and associations, including the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA) as a member of the Board of Directors, IPA, and ICC.
