Excelsus Cuts Turn Times After Installing Novus Synergia Wide-Format UV Printer
LOUISVILLE, CO—February 27, 2015—Excelsus Solutions, based in Rochester, NY, announced the addition of the Novus Synergia H/UV printer, advancing its capabilities and putting the company on the leading edge of UV print technology.
“The Novus Synergia immediately gives us an increase in output while replacing older equipment," explained David Laniak, general manager of Excelsus. "The variable dot, utilization of grayscale and inline white make it a highly efficient industrial digital press."
Founded in 2005 by 30-year print veteran Mark Laniak, Excelsus Solutions is a large- and small-format printer specializing in a wide variety of print and packaging solutions. Its customers range from retailers and package design firms to large scale exhibitions and outdoor signage.
“Our passion and focus has always been to create and grow a company fueled in every area by excellence. We have a skilled team of professionals who believe that print quality, excellent customer service and innovative solutions are the hallmarks of long-lasting relationships,” Laniak said.
Manufactured by Novus Imaging and distributed exclusively in North America by Global Imaging, the Novus Synergia H/UV is a 3.2 meter combination flatbed and roll-to-roll printer with a patented RW Warp Engine with productions speeds of up to 3000 sq. ft/hr. It is a true hybrid that can operate unattended when printing roll-to-roll. Its innovative belt design, full grayscale print engine and variable drop technology produce exceptional print quality and flawless unbroken tone.
“The Novus became the clear choice for us because it is a hybrid machine that can handle all our rigid and roll production needs," Laniak said. “We developed a comfort level with the folks at Novus and Global Imaging. They made every effort to prove that the Synergia was an industry-leading piece of equipment. They were able to provide the necessary data that allowed us to make what we felt was the best decision for our business.”
Since the Novus was installed three months ago, Excelsus has reduced turn times on jobs by over 50 percent while increasing print quality. The faster throughput and the in-line white ink with no ink switch time enables them to offer better pricing to clients while maintaining their target margins. For example, Excelsus just completed a significant project for a large retail chain that previously would have required five full days, running 24 hrs./day to complete. With the Synergia, the job was produced in four shifts, demonstrating the efficiency and effectiveness of the hybrid workflow.
“Excelsus is a large volume digital solutions provider and we subscribe to Lean Manufacturing," Laniak said. "The Novus machine enhances our productivity in some cases by four times, which results in reduced labor hours, gives us added sales capacity at a higher quality and allows us to provide real savings that can be passed on to our clients. We believe Novus has hit a homerun with this printer."
