Execuprint Adds an EFI H1625 Hybrid UV LED Printer to Grow Its Business
KENNESAW, GA—April 30, 2015—Execuprint, Chatsworth, CA, now boasts a complete offering of sheetfed offset, sheetfed digital and digital wide-format inkjet printing, thanks to the recent installation of a six-color EFI H1625 wide-format hybrid LED UV printer, supplied by Heidelberg.
Quest for Higher Margins
Brothers Mike and Bassem "B" Farag first embarked on their digital journey by purchasing a Linoprint C901 digital printing system from Heidelberg in 2013. The move saved the company time and money spent on outsourcing its digital work, and has been "very profitable," said Mike Farag, vice president of sales and marketing. On the lookout for additional high-growth, high-margin opportunities that could lend their company an even keener competitive edge, the Farags selected the H1625 on Heidelberg’s trusted recommendation, eager to tap new markets beyond the "generally saturated market for commercially printed products."
Heidelberg’s color management expertise certainly helped to sweeten the deal. According to Bassem Farag, vice president of operations, each of Execuprint’s offset and digital presses, including the new EFI H1625, has been color-calibrated using Heidelberg’s Prinect PDF Color Toolbox software. "We ran a G7 form on all three types of devices and derived identical results using Heidelberg Saphira proofing paper," he said. Occasionally, given H1625’s ability to print on a wide variety of flexible and rigid materials up to 2" thick—including wood—achieving color can be challenging, he added, but using Heidelberg color management with the excellent H1625 white ink as a base enables the company to produce very good results.
Bold Prospects
With training just completed, "We are off to a good start with the H1625, and optimistic about its ability to grow our business," said Mike Farag. "We already had customers who were interested in digital wide-format inkjet, but had been forced to go elsewhere to meet their needs. Now we are bringing those customers back, and we’re excited about our prospects for the future, particularly in the specialty market." The company, which advertises, "We can print on anything!" already offers everything from banners and signs, and point-of-purchase displays; to floor, window and backlit graphics; to fine art reproduction, package prototyping, and stage and theatrical graphics; to flat-surface vehicle graphics and car wraps.
"Sheetfed offset is still our bread-and-butter," relayed Mike Farag, "but we’re now in a position to work toward an eventual 50-50 balance between offset and digital jobs." In the meantime, he concluded, "We see exciting creative opportunities with plenty of growth potential."
Low Cost, High Value
The EFI H1625 LED is a mid-level production, flatbed and rollfed printer designed to maximize image quality with four colors plus white, grayscale print capability, and enhanced uptime with simple automated operational and maintenance features. With LED technology, users profit from lower running costs and the ability to print on high-value, specialty rigid and flexible substrates.
Execuprint is steadily building a market for the EFI H1625, primarily through word-of-mouth and customer referrals. To augment its newfound digital wide-format capability, the company has purchased a laminator, as well as a set of banner tools. While for the present, Execuprint outsources most of its wide-format cutting, it has plans to acquire a cutting table of its own in due course.
Taking what the Farags describe as an "an old-fashioned" approach to customer service, family run Execuprint specializes in high-quality, same-day work for its clients, which include churches, ministries and other nonprofits, graphic designers, brokers, and business and corporate accounts. In Heidelberg, the company has found a compatible and supportive partner, likewise dedicated to customer satisfaction before, during, and after the sale. The company locks in its quality advantage by using the full line of Heidelberg prepress and pressroom Saphira consumables.
