It may look like magic, but it’s real. And that’s what visitors to Muller Martini’s booth 10543 at PRINTING United in Dallas will see firsthand as they watch live demonstrations of finishing technologies that make workflow bottlenecks disappear on today’s complex production lines. Featuring zero makereadies, touchless workflow, format variability, and short runs (including runs of one), round-the-clock demonstrations by these outstanding performers will produce a variety of finished samples:
- Presto II Digital. The magic of this singular saddle stitching solution is that it efficiently and effortlessly processes dynamic books, direct mailers, catalogs and other products with varying thickness or run size, as well as personalization.
- Vareo. This in-demand perfect binder will demonstrate its finishing magic in conjunction with the InfiniTrim three-knife trimmer whose revolutionary drive, transport and trimming concept provides fully variable changeovers with zero setup.
- Endsheet Feeder. This first-of-its kind technology captivated audiences at this year’s Hunkler Innovationdays. It automates the entire hardcover book block process for either round or straight spines and can be utilized as a standalone or nearline solution.
Connex, Muller Martini’s workflow system which provides a singular tool for tracking, monitoring, and analyzing a job’s data and its variability throughout the entire production process, as well as MMServices, a productivity-enhancing suite of operational improvement programs, will also be represented.
Booth visitors will be greeted by a live magician performing sleight of hand and other illusions. In addition, Muller Martini will be hosting its renowned Blue Hour at the close of the exhibit day on Oct. 23 and 24. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet with Thomas Krischke, president and CEO of Muller Martini NA, as well as a team of regional sales managers, product engineers, and service technicians.
Krischke remarked, “As the printing industry continues to evolve, we’re seeing a convergence of market segments which are represented at Printing United. Our goal is to communicate Muller Martini’s Finishing 4.0 design and engineering philosophy to each and every decision maker so that they can make a more informed choice when considering finishing solutions that will not only speed productivity and workflow, but keep them competitive for years to come. We look forward to seeing our customers—and meeting new ones—at Printing United.”
In addition, on Oct. 23, Andy Fetherman, Muller Martini’s vice president of sales and technology, will participate in two panel discussions, “Book Industry Update: Digital Printing, Finishing Options and More" and “Developments in Finishing for Commercial Printing.” Attendees can learn more about the changing dynamics of finishing and how they can better expedite workflow.
