Fire Doesn’t Stop Production for Long at Freeport Press
FREEPORT, OH—February 12, 2007—On February 3, 2007 Freeport Press Inc. sustained a major fire in its main office building. The fire was electrical in nature, and ended up destroying the entire office building.
The facility, which is owned by David G. Pilcher, has 170 employees and is the largest direct mail and publication printer in southeastern Ohio. The manufacturing buildings which were attached by a passageway had a firewall, and there was only slight water damage sustained beyond that wall of protection. The fire began at 11:00am, and the plant was completely shut down and evacuated and resumed production at 7:00pm that evening. The plant has not missed any scheduled deliveries to any of its customers.
“We are grateful to the Lord that there was no loss of life or injury to personnel” said David Pilcher, President and Owner. The plant has relocated its office staff to temporary quarters in its manufacturing building. We were able to relocate our main servers, and there was absolutely no loss of data, or of any permanent files or records.
