Shooting Leaves Four Sign Company Workers Dead

MINNEAPOLIS—Four employees of an indoor signage firm are dead, including the owner, after a recently laid-off worker returned to the job Thursday and opened fire before taking his own life, a number of sources have reported. Three other employees remain in critical condition.

Among the dead was 61-year-old Reuven Rahamin, owner of Accent Signage Systems, located here in the city's Bryn Mawr section. The Associated Press quoted Rahamin's son-in-law as saying other members of the family were also among the dead.

The identity of the suspect has not been released, though the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported that the shooter was apparently a disgruntled employee who had been laid off earlier in the day.

Accent specializes in producing wholesale interior signs, relying on digital printing, engraving, vinyl and hot stamping on a wide variety of substrates and nontraditional materials, including stone, metal, wood, plastic and glass. It is noted for creating braille signage and reportedly holds a patent for braille printing technology.
