First Data Implements Substantial Fleet of InfoPrint 5000 Inkjet Presses
BOULDER, CO—April 30, 2012—Ricoh Production Print Solutions, a leading provider of digital output solutions, announced it has completed one of the largest color implementations in its history at First Data, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment processing. This comprehensive installation includes 15 duplex InfoPrint 5000 GP color inkjet systems, four of which are coupled with InfoPrint 5000 MP MICR units.
Deployed by First Data primarily for printing credit card statements, the InfoPrint 5000 was chosen because of its reliability, color consistency, and ease of use. The printers are installed and operating in two First Data print facilities.
First Data serves more than six million merchant locations, thousands of card issuers and millions of consumers worldwide. Using the InfoPrint 5000 system helps the company enable cost savings for its customers while still meeting exacting standards thanks to the advanced color solution, which allows high-quality, drop-on-demand color printing—eliminating the need to store pre-printed color stock or destroy obsolete stock and enabling First Data customers to tailor statements with customized messages and offers.
“We thoroughly evaluated a number of color print offerings, and it was the InfoPrint 5000 that really met our needs,” said Tim Rosenthal, senior vice president, Output Services, at First Data. “The InfoPrint 5000 offers solid reliability and consistent, high quality color output. It can best help us reach our goal: to empower our customers to become more efficient and profitable.
“We have worked with Ricoh and their InfoPrint line of solutions for years. They are a long-term, trusted partner and have consistently provided us with knowledgeable resources and responsive support that have helped us maximize the benefit we’ve received from the technology,” Rosenthal added
“First Data has been an innovator in their industry, always looking for the next solution that will elevate them beyond the competition. We’re pleased they’ve found the InfoPrint 5000 family to be that solution,” said Chris Cosgrove, vice president and general manager for Central and Western United States, Ricoh. “Our relationship with First Data has grown through the years and continues to evolve. Knowing that First Data looks to us to assist with their output needs is a validation of the strength of our solutions and support teams.”
