PLYMOUTH, MI—July 1, 2014—Flint Group North America has announced a 15 percent price increase on silicones used in heatset web applications.
New prices take effect on silicones ordered in the United States and Canada on or after July 1, 2014, subject to existing contracts.
The silicone price increase is driven by continued cost increases of silicone oil—the key component in silicone emulsions used by heatset web printers.
“Flint Group is taking every possible measure to mitigate the impact of these increases,” said Michael Kellen, Flint Group’s director of pressroom chemicals. “We appreciate customers’ understanding of the market conditions that make these price increases necessary.”
