Ford Bowers Named to Succeed Michael Robertson as the New President and CEO of SGIA
ATLANTA—November 4, 2015—On February 1, 2016, Ford Bowers of Miller Zell will become SGIA’s president and CEO, succeeding Michael Robertson after nearly 33 years of dedicated service to the Association.
Over the past nine years, Bowers served as the vice president of operations for Miller Zell and the general manager of the Miller Zell Graphic Center. He led the company through the transition from analog (screen and litho) to mostly digital print production. He also attained G7 qualification in several printing methodologies, as well as the highly desired SGP Certification.
“SGIA membership has played an important role in developing the strategies and solutions that keep Miller Zell at the forefront of print services for our clients,” explained Bowers. “I am excited to be in a position to devote my full time to an organization that has done so much for Miller Zell and myself, working closely with suppliers and the many and varied print and imaging members of this Association to continue to develop the SGIA community.”
Michael Robertson announced his intent to retire in June of 2015. His 33 years of service include 15 years as president and CEO, during which he oversaw exponential advancement in the industry and the Association, leading it to become the successful organization that it is today.
“My involvement in the SGIA community has been a rewarding and valued experience. I greatly appreciate the opportunity I've had to be part of the SGIA staff and leadership,” commented Robertson. “SGIA grows stronger every year. I am very proud of what we've accomplished together, and I am equally optimistic about the future success of SGIA.”
