Four-Color Title Printed at Sheridan Hits Big Screen
CHELSEA, MI—March 5, 2014—TAN Books, a publisher of Catholic work, entrusted Sheridan to print their latest title depicting scenes from the major motion picture, "Son of God." The film, which opened in theaters on February 28, 2014, is a biblical drama telling the story of The New Testament. Given the nature of the film TAN Books was asked to help publicize the movie. The natural choice for the publisher was to create a book, "Son of God: The Life of Jesus Christ in Pictures," which combines the history of Jesus with photos from the film. Because of the importance of the title and the book’s production requirements, they turned to Sheridan to produce it.
"We use about five book printers and Sheridan was the obvious choice to use for the Son of God project, strongly because of their reliable production execution," commented Bob Wirtel, production and purchasing manager at TAN Books. "Sheridan’s customer service personnel and the support they provide make it easy for us to know how our project is progressing and that the books will deliver on time."
Utilizing Sheridan’s high-quality, four-color, sheetfed offset printing capabilities, full-page photographs from the film are brought to life with each turn of the page. The case-bound book features a printed case complete with a matching dust jacket to give the title the look of prominence it deserves.
"There is no shortage of color in this title, even the endsheets print in four-color to showcase scenes from the movie," stated Joe Thomson, vice president of sales and marketing at Sheridan Books. "It’s a beautiful book and we are thankful of our long-standing relationship with TAN Books. Everyone at Sheridan is honored to have been associated with this project."
