Watch this week's Short Attention Span Sales Tip here.
Good morning!
It was about this time last year when I went all in with LinkedIn. I have learned four lessons:
- A well curated profile page is critical.
- We should all be seeking additional connections regularly.
- Next most important is the quality of posts you put out.
- After that, it’s the quantity of posts that matters.
This being the week of Thanksgiving, you should have some extra time on your hands. What a great opportunity to examine your LinkedIn strategy.
Prospects will check you out on LinkedIn first. What impression does your profile send?
You should have thousands of network connections. It will help you in ways I cannot predict but can only confirm from my own experience over the years.
Make certain everything you post (everything!) builds on the message you are trying to send (i.e. your brand). You want people to see your name on their feed and think, “His/Her/Their stuff is always good. I’m going to take the time to read it.”
And finally, you should be posting on LinkedIn consistently. My team adds my content every workday. You could start off with a once-a-week post and build from there.
Over the last 12 months, I have seen interest in my weekly sales tip newsletter rise by close to 80%. Thousands read my blog. The LinkedIn marketing strategy I engaged this time last year has benefited every aspect of my business.
Think ahead 12 months. Where do you want to be? How can you engage LinkedIn to help you get there?
And what could you do right now, today, as a first step?
PS — On that subject, there is a free 30-minute workshop on my website which will help you learn the nuances of your Profile page.
And Happy Thanksgiving, friends!
