Freeport Press Upgrades Komori Web with Rima Automatic Log Stacker
FREEPORT, OH—Jan. 11, 2011—Freeport Press continues to make investments in upgrading its equipment in order to improve processes and gain production efficiencies. The combination of the RS 610 horizontal log stacker with the RS 650 log palletizer and a full RS 34 compensating stacking backup system allows seamless, uninterrupted product delivery from the fastest makeready commercial heatset web offset press in the market—Komori System 38S.
The Rima-System RS 610 log stacker supports formats from A5 to A3/“Slim Jim” and tabloid distinguishes itself with superior log building technology. Perfect ergonomics are guaranteed by easy accessibility and by the designed separation of the machine into an operator and a maintenance side.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the log quality in all formats we produce. Rima-System has designed a machine that can handle every product format we can throw at it. This press delivery system has been a tremendous upgrade in efficiency for our operation,” states James Pilcher, vice president of manufacturing/general manager for Freeport Press.
