MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — September 8, 2016 — Fry Communications has won 10 Gold Ink Awards in the Annual Gold Ink Awards Competition. Fry won all three medals in one category, for Gold, Silver, and Bronze, and won an additional two Bronze and five Pewter Awards.
The “Fry sweep” occurred in the Commercial Brochure, Web, category. The Gold Award winner is African Travel, published by Travel Corporation, a stunning perfect bound travel brochure featuring reticulation and gloss on the cover. The Silver Award winner is the Regent Seven Seas Cruises: Exotics Collection May 2016 brochure from Prestige Cruise Holdings, which is an elegant perfect bound brochure with foil and spot dull UV on the cover. The Bronze winner is the Regent Seven Seas Cruises: 2016-2017 Winter Collection, also from Prestige Cruise Holdings, whose cover uses a combination of spot gloss varnish, spot dull varnish, spot soft touch coating, and spot gloss UV coating and a stunning photograph to create the impression of embossing.
The Victor Stanley 2016 Catalog, published by Victor Stanley, won Bronze in the Business Catalogs, Web, category. This perfect-bound catalog of high-end commercial outdoor furniture also featured a dull UV coating on the cover.
World Screen MIPTV Edition, published by WSN Inc., won Bronze in the Trade Magazines, Web category. This perfect bound, tabloid size magazine features multiple bind-ins and supplements as well as a half gatefold cover.
Fry also received five Pewter Awards for the following pieces: the Boston Design Guide, published by Boston Design, in the Directories category; the Moore & Giles Spring/Summer 2016 Vendor Catalog published by Moore & Giles Inc., in the Business Catalogs, Sheetfed category; the WWD Feb 2016 issue, published by Fairchild Publishing, a division of Penske Media, in the Web Trade Magazines category; Long Island Pulse April 2016, published by Armadillo Media, in the Consumer Magazines category; and Worth No. 37, Vol 24, published by Sandow Media Corporation, in the Consumer Magazines category.
