In a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Brent Moncrief, VP, Strategic Marketing & Brand Management, FUJIFILM North America, Graphic Systems Div. (Booth 1529), stressed the importance of creating partnerships to stay competitive, and that if print is relevant, it can be very powerful.
“The demise of print is grossly overrated,” he said.
To promote the growth of printed media, Fujifilm took time to showcase its technology. Kaz Kudo, Product Marketing Manager, FUJIFILM North America, Graphic Systems Div., highlighted the Acuity LED 1600 II entrylevel large-format hybrid printer. The press features high definition printing with a variety of finishes and both rigid and roll substrate capabilities. In addition to the Acuity LED 1600, Kudo described the benefits of the super- wide, 126-inch Acuity LED 3200R, which features 7 picoliter piezo inkjet printheads, a dual-roll printing function and speeds up to 1,184 sqft/hr in productivity.
Rebecca McConnell, Product Marketing Manager, FUJIFILM North America, Graphic Systems Div., took the floor to highlight the OnsetM B1-format inkjet printer designed for high-quality short runs for offset, screen and industrial printing.
Making its global debut at the SGIA Expo is the Inca SpyderX. The six-color plus white, 126-inch wide press features optional roll system or true flatbed capabilities as well as 14 picoliter ink drops and speeds up to 2,476 sqft/hr.
Also being showcased is the Inca Onset series of presses, including the Onset X1, Onset X2 and Onset X3 with robotic offload. According to McConnell, the line offers the fastest flatbed technology in the market, with 14 picoliter ink drops and full configurability to meet the needs of the user.
For the past 15 years, FUJIFILM and Inca have enjoyed a relationship of prosperity and innovation. John Mills, CEO, Inca Digital, described the long running partnership between the two companies, and then explored the customer benefits of the companies’ new technology, including SpyderX.
