SGIA Expo 2015 to Mark Debut of Fujifilm’s Onset X Series and Uvistar Hybrid 320
HANOVER PARK, Ill.—October 29, 2015—Fujifilm North America, Graphic Systems Division will present an exciting lineup of all-new and innovative wide-format printing solutions in its ‘Now You Can, Win More Work’ themed booth at the upcoming SGIA Expo in Atlanta.
Making its worldwide debut on the show floor in the Fujifilm booth will be the recently announced Onset X Series of high productivity, high-quality flatbed presses from Inca Digital. Taking flexibility and performance to a higher level, the all-new Onset X Series is a major evolution of Inca Digital’s pioneering ‘scalable architecture’ concept. Selected models within the series can be configured with unique Fujifilm Dimatix printheads, and can be fitted with up to 14 channels to jet several combinations of Fujifilm Uvijet inks. This allows each customer to customize their Onset X press for the combination of productivity, color, and quality that best meets their ever-changing production requirements.
The Onset X1 features eight active channels, with four channels printing CMYK, and the remaining channels configured as needed using a combination of light magenta, light cyan, White and Orange (Lm, Lc, White, Orange). With a second set of CMYK, the Onset X2 delivers even higher productivity—725m2/hr (145 beds/hr.)—while an optional six channels can be populated to add versatility. Sitting at the pinnacle of productivity, the Onset X3 features three times CMYK ink channels plus the choice of White or Orange, and throughput is increased to nearly 10,000 square feet/hr. or 180 beds. And every Onset X Series press includes an all new 25-zone vacuum table that completely eliminates bed masking for substrates of any size, greatly reducing set-up times.
Also premiering at SGIA is the recently announced, all-new Uvistar Hybrid 320, a 3.2m, combination flatbed and roll printer, capable of producing high-quality output at speeds of up to 2,100 square feet/hr. Utilizing Fujifilm Dimatix Q-Class printheads and Fujifilm Uvijet inks, the Uvistar Hybrid 320 prints full grayscale output of exceptional quality and delivers a wide gamut of vibrant colors. The patented tri-lobal belt and six-zone intelligent vacuum system delivers best-in-class media handling and ensures that all types of substrates track accurately in roll or flatbed mode. The press is available in an eight channel configuration delivering CMYK, Lc, Lm, Lk and Orange inks. A nine channel configuration is available that adds White ink.
The new Acuity LED 1600 II is also making its debut in the Fujifilm booth at SGIA. Featuring a faster printing mode at 355 square feet/hr.; this is 65 percent percent faster than the previous model. The Acuity LED 1600 II improves its media adaptability with expanded vacuum modes and increased quality at larger head gaps. Added benefits include modes for two-layer and three-layer printing in a single pass.
Additionally, the Acuity Select 8, one of the models within the popular Acuity series will also be highlighted in the Fujifilm booth. The Acuity Select will be running Fujifilm’s newest ink, Uvijet KN, designed for optimal color gamut with enhanced adhesion. The Fujifilm booth will also feature an impressive variety of thermoformed POP products to showcase the range of applications of Uvijet KV, which are inks that have been designed for the production of decorative print in deep draw thermoforming applications. The inks have been developed to be printed on the Fujifilm Acuity Select line-up, opening the door for creative design and customization opportunities for thermoformed products.
Rounding out the nearly 5,000-square-foot Fujifilm booth will be the Acuity F, the newest flatbed press to join the Acuity platform, now with an all-new ink set, Uvijet WH. Show attendees will see this UV press produce exceptional print quality at speeds up to 1,668 square feet/hr. The Acuity F, typically configured with seven colors, including White, maintains all the advantages of the popular and successful Acuity series, including near-photographic image quality, versatility and ease of use; and also has been optimized for the efficient and high speed production of rigid media applications.
In the Workflow Discovery area, Fujifilm representatives will be discussing the latest in technology for wide-format workflow solutions, featuring premier partner solutions ColorGATE and Caldera. These RIPs support the latest APPE technology providing the fastest RIP speeds on the market so printers can keep up with their production needs. Both RIPs have top class color management engines to consistently control color.
A visually-stunning wall of printed samples will showcase why ‘Now You Can, Win More Work’ with the print quality and range of applications delivered by Fujifilm’s wide-format solutions.
A portfolio of wide-format media products will be on display including the Visual Magnetics Graphic System of magnetic-receptive print media.
