GAA Represents Third-Generation Company’s Printing Division in Sale to Mail Management Services
Graphics Arts Advisors (GAA) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Daniels Graphics printing division by leading Allegra franchisee, Marketing Print Mail, completed in June.
COO/CEO Jami Daniels engaged GAA to find a buyer for the printing division of The Daniels Group, a multi-faceted communications company about to celebrate 75 years in business. Mitch Evans, GAA Managing Director, was the lead advisor on this engagement.
“My grandfather started the company in 1948 as a secretarial service. My father grew it into a large commercial printing company,” Daniels said. Today, The Daniels Group has a robust business in the customer service space including call center outsourcing; a medical answering service; live chat, text, and email support; and alarm monitoring.
Covid changed the company dramatically. “Previous to Covid, we had focused on marketing portals and related support. That business depended heavily on events and trade shows — more than I realized at the time. We had a brisk digital business, but our offset business never returned to where it had been during 2019 and the beginning of 2020 when Covid hit.” So Daniels decided to sell the printing division.
“Jami let her top management know that she was going to market the commercial printing company and they were instrumental in providing information and helping advise Jami in the final decision to sell to Allegra,” noted Evans.
Daniels noted that several things about the printing portion of her business made it attractive to Allegra: solid account relationships, strength in the marketing portals space, and accounts unique from Allegra’s. She said the company’s grit also stood out: “We have a reputation for quality and for tackling projects that are hard.”
GAA was integral to the sale because of its comprehensive knowledge and connections in the graphic communications industry nationwide. “The people that I knew that I thought would be eager buyers turned out not to be,” said Daniels. “I am pretty sure I would never have found my way to Allegra if GAA hadn’t been involved.”
