Gandy Digital Streamlines Production with New 30,000-Square-Foot Manufacturing Plant
MISSISSAUGA, ON—May 7, 2014—Gandy Digital, the Canadian manufacturer of digital inkjet large format printers, has moved its manufacturing and product development functions to a new, purpose built 30,000-square-foot facility in Ontario, Canada. With an improved facility layout, the new plant has been designed to provide increased production flexibility, efficiency and automation, for the continued supply of market leading products and customer service.
Situated close to Toronto in the town of Mississauga, the new Gandy Digital manufacturing and assembly plant features a fully automated digital product feed system, hi-tech product design and test laboratories and comprehensive customer training and demonstration facilities. Designed to have a very low environmental impact, it also boasts a paperless ‘digital’ workflow, significantly improving internal communications and production information.
Hary Gandy, CEO of Gandy Digital commented, “Our new facility is the embodiment of our company vision and mission. With high quality customer service as the focus for everything we do, we have designed our new plant to not only drive production efficiencies and reduce costs, but to also provide an environment where design creativity could be maximized."
“This element to our move was crucial," he continued. "Visitors to FESPA Digital will learn more first hand, but our new environment has enabled us to continue to innovate and deliver products that meet the challenges of our customers today—and importantly—provide them with the technology to take advantage of new revenue building opportunities tomorrow.”
The new Gandy Digital facility includes a product feed system supplying live information for every stage of manufacturing, enabling the business to closely monitor production progress, with stock inventory and other vital information provided at the touch of a button. Gandy Digital’s new hi-tech product design and test laboratories also provide the ideal environment for refining and evolving existing products, developing new innovations and creating custom solutions for specific customer requirements.
In addition to cutting edge customer training and global sales and service facilities, the new plant also features a fully equipped demo room. This capability allows customers to test and evaluate Gandy Digital printers using their own files and substrates and gain a full understanding of the additional value and high print quality achievable from a Gandy Digital printer.
The Gandy Digital product portfolio consists of a range of UV inkjet printers, offering flatbed or flatbed with a roll-to-roll capability, including Pred8tor, Domin8tor, Viper and Sl8te. Each providing Gandy Digital’s renowned high-print quality and reliability benefits, customers are able to choose from a variety of product options to suit their business and service offering, and profitably produce a host of rigid and flexible applications for indoor and outdoor use.
“With over 35 years of digital printing technology and more than 2,000 products installed around the world, we are proud to have been, consistently, at the forefront of the large format market," concluded Hary Gandy. “Today, with the changes to our business and a strong product portfolio, we believe that we’re poised to take an increased leadership position, and as such, are very excited to share our latest news at FESPA Digital in May."
