Gasch Printing Installs HP PageWide T240 HD to Expand All-Digital Book Production
Gasch Printing, the all-digital book printer, has invested in the HP PageWide Web Press T240HD to deliver high-quality color with fast turnaround. The high-volume digital solution will help Gasch increase capacity and grow color volume.
The first HP solution for Gasch, the HP PageWide T240HD digital press was installed recently at the Odenton, Md., site, where Gasch runs a three-shift operation to deliver breakthrough turnaround for on-demand digital book orders.
“We consider ourselves a technology company that manufactures books, and we are proving that every day as we advance in our internal automated systems, as well as our investments in world-class technology. We realize our client’s needs for quick delivery, without sacrificing quality. We don’t want to be the largest book printer, but we do want to be the best in how we care for our clients and exceed their expectations,” said Doug Gasch, president.
An industry leader in short-to-medium run book printing, Gasch serves publishers, as well as associations and self-publishers looking to reduce inventory.
The HP PageWide Web Press T240 HD uses High Definition Nozzle Architecture (HDNA) technology with 2400 nozzles per inch (npi) to deliver outstanding image quality on native print resolution, printing at 500 feet a minute for up to 62 million letter-size color pages per month.
The HP solution was also chosen for its ability to print at top speed on both gloss and satin papers.
Established in 1982, Gasch Printing specializes in digital book manufacturing for publishers, associations and self-publishers throughout the United States.
All finishing services are done in house, such as perfect binding, case binding, foil stamping, saddle stitch binding and mechanical binding. Gasch has fitted the HP PageWide Web Press T240HD with a Hunkeler Roll-to-finished book block Gen8.
A new climate controlled room was built to support the new HP PageWide production line with space for future expansion. In addition, Gasch purchased a new Horizon Smart Binder SB-17 PUR Perfect Binding system in line with a HT 110 three knife trimmer. This new system will increase perfect binding capacity by over 500%.
