Gateway Gets Web Platform
LOUISVILLE, KY—A new eight-unit, 38˝ MAN Roland Rotoman web offset press with autoplate and closed-loop color control is at the center of an $11 million capital expenditure initiative for Gateway Press.
Gateway, which registered a tick under $40 million in sales for fiscal year 2005, is best known for its work with the Government Printing Office.
The press will provide added capacity for Gateway and allow it to pursue more commercial opportunities in the private sector, Darrell Embry, vice president of sales, reveals, including catalog printing. The Rotoman, which has a top rated speed of 65,000 copies per hour, is slated to be installed no later than June of 2007.
The balance of the $11 million initiative will go toward renovations to the building and roof to accommodate the new press.
