Gateway Printing Installs MGI Meteor DP60 Pro Digital Press
MELBOURNE, FL—May 26, 2011—MGI Digital Graphic Technology, the manufacturer of digital printing and finishing solutions, announced that Gateway Printing has installed a Meteor DP60 Pro multi-substrate digital press.
Gateway, a full service commercial printing company, was established over 100 years ago as part of the local newspaper, making it one of the oldest printers in Georgia. The company was purchased in 1976 by Byrl Pointer, the late father of the current owners, Nolan and Tim Pointer.
Gateway Printing has been in its current Bremen, GA, facility since 1984 and employs 21 people. President Nolan Pointer attributes the company’s success to its strong customer service philosophy and high quality work.
When the decision was made to acquire a digital press, Nolan Pointer and Vice President Tim Pointer started a thorough investigation of the digital presses on the market. The MGI Meteor DP60 Pro was chosen for its high-quality printing, range of sheet sizes and multiple substrate capabilities.
“Our customers expect high quality work, prompt service and competitive pricing”, said Nolan Pointer. “The MGI Meteor DP60 Pro allows us to easily meet those needs, and we’re excited about the additional capabilities we can now offer our customers.”
Gateway Printing purchased the Meteor DP60 Pro from Paper Handling Solutions, Inc. (PHS), based in Marietta, GA, and an MGI dealer.
The flagship in MGI’s digital line and with hundreds of installations worldwide, the Meteor DP60 Pro received consecutive Must See ‘em recognition at GRAPH EXPO 2008 and PRINT 09. Key features include true multi-substrate versatility (widest range of paper, plastics & envelopes), sheet sizes up to 13 x 40” in production as a standard feature (up to 13x47” via manual bypass), laser-safe prints, offset comparable color output (Fogra certified), plus no click charge and an economical total cost of operation.
