PHILADELPHIA — May 19, 2016 — This 2016 Gold Ink Awards entry was submitted and entered into the Hardcover Books category by Worzalla Publishing, a specialty book manufacturer based in Stevens Point, Wis. In her book "Home," award-winning television host, comedian, author and actress Ellen DeGeneres shows her passion for home design and style. "Home" weaves together an inspiring collection of photographs that feature seven of her homes, past and present, which beautifully captures California architecture, unique home furnishings and art, and lessons on creating the perfect dream home.
A press run of 127,000 books was produced on Worzalla's five-color Manroland Rotoman N web offset press. The paper used for the 304-page book was Opus Matte from Sappi Fine Paper, and the book was printed four-color process and hardcover case-bound.
"This is an example of a high-quality, coffee-table specialty book that is right up Worzalla's alley," says Kris Koch, Worzalla's VP of operations. "We were able to use our color management skills and G7 certification to achieve the high levels of print quality required for a book like this."
Cheri Karch, corporate relations director at Worzalla, adds that the company also produced a deluxe edition (2,000 copies), which was printed using a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 sheetfed offset perfector on 100-lb. Flo Matte (also from Sappi Fine Paper), with a cloth cover and photo onlay.
