GPA Congratulates Top Gold Ink Award Winners Bennett Graphics and Image Printing
CHICAGO—September 3, 2014—GPA congratulates the 2014 winners of the Gold Ink Awards, presented by Printing Impressions magazine. The company would like to especially recognize the work of two GPA customers who produced winning entries with substrates from GPA: Bennett Graphics of Tucker, GA; and Image Printing of Bismarck, ND. Winners were chosen from over 1,000 entries submitted in 46 different categories.
Bennett Graphics won two Gold Ink Awards for their production of the "Dscoop9 Onsite Show Guide." They took home the Gold Award in the Digital Printing: Digital Printing, Variable Data & Personalization category, and also a Bronze Award in the Magazines: Event Programs category. Its winning entry was a collaboration with Chris Hyde, principal of design firm Cypher Creative, and GPA, who was the exclusive substrate provider and donated all material for the guide. The 74-page book features personalized information and graphics throughout, and 10 different Ultra Digital substrates, including pearlescent, linen, 100 percent recycled, board stock, photo and pressure sensitive papers, among others.
David Bennett, president of Bennett Graphics, spoke to the importance of using the right substrates in its winning entry. "I have great comfort knowing that I’m investing in products with guaranteed results on press. In today’s environment, every hour is important and we don’t have time to experiment with substrates that we hope will perform. As an owner of a printing business, working with GPA gives me a tremendous amount of confidence that we can produce the kind of work that creates satisfied customers, and you can’t put a price on that," noted David.
Image Printing also won with two entries printed on GPA’s substrates: their "Think Print. Think Image." entry was printed with Ultra Digital 4 Mil White Flexible Vinyl and Ultra Digital 100# Bright White Uncoated Text paper, and earned a Silver Award in the Commercial Printing: Folders category. The company also won a Bronze Award in the Commercial Printing: Potpourri category for its entry titled "Warmest Wishes," which also utilized Ultra Digital 4 Mil White Flexible Vinyl.
Todd Clausnitzer, co-owner and creative director at Image Printing, shared how GPA substrates make an impact on the work it produces. "We have many resources and venders at our disposal, there are a select few that you can truly count on to provide superior products and service. The quicker you can identify them as allies and partners, the closer to success you will be. For us, GPA is one of those trusted partners helping us create work that not only wins awards, but also repeat business," Todd stated.
GPA is proud to support the award-winning work of their customers, as they continue to use GPA substrates to strengthen their reputations for quality and innovation.
GPA also won a Pewter Award for its "Digital Product Catalog" and "Digital Product Swatchbook" in the Digital Printing: Digital Printing, Marketing Collateral category. GPA’s winning entry was created to serve as a comprehensive reference for GPA’s digital product offerings. The catalog and swatchbook were designed as companion pieces, with matching covers printed on 12-pt. Silver Mirri Board from GPA. The swatchbook contains over 100 different printed Ultra Digital substrates, making it one of the most extensive swatchbooks for digital printing available today.
