GRAPH EXPO Seminar Program Shows Printers How to Add Value to Client Projects
RESTON, VA—Commercial printers will get the inside scoop on new business opportunities and gain insight into how to add value to client projects through the GRAPH EXPO® Seminar Program, to be held October 26-29 in Chicago’s McCormick Place South during GRAPH EXPO 2008. More than 70 educational sessions, as well as hands-on computer labs featuring the latest in software solutions, will provide commercial printers with real lessons that can be put to use as soon as they return to the printing plant.
“The successful commercial printer of the future will offer service that is customized to their clients’ specific needs, by taking full advantage of all the technologies-from offset printing to new media-at their disposal,” said Ralph Nappi, president of the Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC®). “GRAPH EXPO’s value to attendees lies in the opportunity it provides to not only evaluate the latest graphic communications technology first-hand on the show floor, but also to learn in our many educational sessions how to apply them to gain the greatest business success.”
All educational sessions are created by industry experts, with an eye toward providing action-oriented solutions that can easily be applied to a business. Workshop topics for commercial printers range from business building and sales to color management and production issues, covering the full gamut of concerns for employees at all levels within the printing plant. Sessions for top management, for example, include an assessment of new print-service opportunities, such as signage and wide-format, target marketing, and specialty printing; how-to’s on building lucrative non-print divisions, such as mailing, fulfillment and creative services; forecasts on hot graphic communications segments of the future; and in-depth discussions on the unique challenges of digital and on-demand printing.
Other workshops target sales staff, plant managers and production personnel. Tutorials and solutions-oriented seminars cover the fine art of selling digital and variable-data printing; the sustainability movement within the printing operation; and the nitty-gritty issues surrounding UV printing, color management, and more.
Kicking off these and an array of other seminars is the 13th edition of the EXECUTIVE OUTLOOK® Conference. Held October 25, the day before GRAPH EXPO 2008 opens, this year’s EXECUTIVE OUTLOOK is themed “Where Technology Meets the Marketplace-Tomorrow’s Trends in Technology-Today.” Commercial printers will get in-depth discussion of the critical technology, markets, economics and issues affecting the graphic communications industry into the future.
