Valpak Direct Marketing Systems, Largo, FL, has earned Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certifications.
UNIMAC Graphics, Carlstadt, NJ, has been awarded ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System (EMS) certification. UNIMAC is already ISO 9001:2008, as well as FSC, SFI and PEFC chain-of-custody certified.
Dayton-OH-based WorkflowOne’s 15 manufacturing facilities and distribution centers have been awarded FSC, SFI and PEFC chain-of-custody certifications.
Quad/Graphics, of Sussex, WI, has received its fourth consecutive environmental excellence award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SmartWay Transport Partnership. It received the award for leadership in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution from its freight operations.
The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership has added its 11th and 12th certified SGP Printers: Chicago-based Consolidated Printing, a full-service commercial printer, and Minuteman Press, of Lawrence, KS. Both join a growing group of printers that have received SGP Printer certification.

Mohawk Fine Papers has again been recognized by the EPA as a leading green power purchaser. It was also awarded the Green Power Leadership Award in 2005 and named Partner of the Year in 2007. It is the third time that the EPA has recognized Mohawk.
Sun Chemical has released its first sustainability report, providing data-driven performance measurement for seven key sustainability metrics to help customers and consumers understand the firm’s environmental impact. The company has also initiated a project to analyze and manage the carbon footprints for eight different Sun Chemical ink products. The New York Environmental Leaders (NYEL) program has welcomed INX International Ink as one of its 11 inaugural members. INX’s facility in Dunkirk, NY, played a role in becoming the only printing outlet to be involved with NYEL. In 1996, it reportedly became the first ink facility in the United States to be ISO 14001-compliant. The Dunkirk operation also earned ISO 9001 certification last year. PI
