During PRINT 17, Canon will demonstrate its aggressive expansion into the graphics art market with new digital printing technologies and solutions. Spanning high-speed inkjet production, sheetfed toner-based presses, as well as large format printing, Canon offers print providers amazing tools to help users produce high-quality output, such as books, magazines, brochures, and direct marketing materials. Canon continues to use the knowledge and customer feedback that it obtains through its existing continuous feed, sheetfed production and large format products, along with market intelligence, to bring new award winning technology to fruition.
PRINT FAST
PRINT 17 will serve as the North American unveiling of the Océ VarioPrint 6000 TITAN Series of sheetfed digital monochrome production presses. Built on the success of the Océ VarioPrint 6000 platform, the TITAN Series incorporates unique, market-proven Gemini Instant Duplex Technology to provide best-in-class productivity and offset-like quality with near-perfect registration for commercial, book, transaction and large in-plant printers.
First described by InfoTrends as entering the “Zone of Disruption,” the Océ VarioPrint i300 inkjet sheetfed color press with ColorGrip will once again be prominently featured in the Canon booth. The VarioPrint i300 fills the speed and capacity gap that exists between conventional high-end, toner-based, sheetfed presses and entry-level, continuous-feed inkjet presses and can help print service providers create a wide array of products which can allow them to take advantage of new revenue opportunities, especially in the growing graphics arts market.
Visitors can also observe the speed and productivity of Canon’s imagePRESS lineup, with the imagePRESS C10000VP and imagePRESS C850 sheetfed digital color presses present within the booth.
PRINT BIG
Designed to deliver exceptional productivity for both indoor and outdoor display graphics applications, the Océ Colorado 1640 will be a highlight of the Canon booth. The world’s first 64", roll-to-roll printer built on Canon UVgel technology recently received recognition as a 2017 Must See 'Ems award winner, in addition to its receipt of the Printing News 2017 Readers’ Choice Product Award in the Output Devices: Wide-Format Roll-to-Roll Inkjet Printers Printer category. Integral to the Colorado is Canon’s UVgel technology, which allows the ink to instantly gel on contact with media and facilitates saving customers 30 to 50 percent on ink running costs.
The Océ Arizona 2200 Series large format UV flatbed printer will also display its ability to print photo-quality images on virtually any type of media, no matter how unconventional – making it a perfect fit for the vibrant minds of those in graphic arts.
Shown for the first time publically, Canon’s imagePROGRAF PRO-6000 large format 60" printer is the perfect choice for those looking to produce spectacular image output for the Photo and Fine Art print markets. With the ability to feed from the only standard 2-roll system in its class, this is also an ideal solution for production printing environments.
Visitors to the imagePROGRAF section will also get a first look at Canon’s new production 5-color aqueous inkjet printer, designed for the demanding needs of the technical documents market.
